Sharing the namesake of philosopher John Locke, Locke Academy was founded by
Chan Weng Kit in 1971 (originally from Ipoh). Back in those days, there were no private schools available around Negeri Sembilan that held A Levels and GCSE to further one’s studies. Principal Chan Weng Kit saw this as an opportunity to establish a school for the younger generations as well as give back to a community that is so robust with young talent.
Thus, Locke Academy opened its doors in 1971, maintaining a high level of education and tutelage for its students. Ever since, for the past decades, the school has been consistently producing highly accredited results for Accounting courses, especially for LCCI which many of our students have achieved internationally acclaimed medals.
In July 2018, Locke Academy has moved from its previous location as a long term anchor tenant of Wisma MCA at Jalan Tuanku Munawir to now the new Centerpoint Seremban. Following to this, we have assiduously been introducing Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) into Malaysia for students to pursue their accounting careers aside from other conventional pathways. Locke Academy is listed among the four AAT Training Providers in Malaysia.
